Add AC Repair and Service to Your Spring To-Do List

April 28, 2016

Spring is finally here. We’re pretty sure your to-do list already feels a mile long, but we have a handful of things that will save you some problems and keep you cozy in the months to come. The weather is going to start heating up in Albuquerque and the last thing you want is to find out is that you’re in need of AC repair. Going through this short checklist now might save you from sweating this summer.

  1. Check Your Air Filter and Ducts
Changing your air filter makes it to almost all of our lists of things to check because it's so important and so often overlooked. If your air filter is a mess, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfortable. This costs you more money and causes more wear and tear which diminishes the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are an additional piece of the puzzle that is often overlooked as well. While you're spring cleaning, remove the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers taken off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and swap them after they've dried.
  2. Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units cleared of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can impact your system and cause it to lower its efficiency.
  3. Arrange Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we come in to help you take on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up helps improve the life of your system and keeps it running at peak efficiency. Spring is the best time to set up your tune-up so any problems or AC repair that needs to be made can be taken care of before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a small investment into the life of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.

We can't help you with your entire spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to ensure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to set up your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 505-445-1250.
